Verse of the Day

Jeremiah 1:5 reads, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

This verse is a powerful reminder of the unique and special purpose that God has for each and every one of us. From the moment of our conception, God has a plan and a purpose for our lives. He knows us intimately and has set us apart for a specific task or role.

In the case of Jeremiah, God appointed him as a prophet to the nations. But for each of us, our purpose may be different. It may be to be a parent, a teacher, a doctor, or any number of other roles. Whatever it is, God has equipped us with the gifts and abilities necessary to fulfill it.

It's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life and lose sight of our purpose. But this verse serves as a reminder that we are each unique and special in God's eyes, and that he has a plan and purpose for us. Let us seek to discover and fulfill that purpose, knowing that God is with us every step of the way.

Prayer of the Day

Dear Lord,

As we approach the end of another year and the start of a new one, we give you thanks for all that you have done for us. You have been with us through the highs and lows, the joys and sorrows, and we are grateful for your presence in our lives.

As we enter into the new year, we pray for your guidance and wisdom. Help us to focus on what is most important and to set our sights on the things that matter most. Give us the strength and courage to face the challenges that come our way, and the grace to persevere through the difficult times.

We pray for peace and unity in our world, for an end to violence and conflict, and for a greater understanding and appreciation of one another. May we strive to live lives that honor you and bring glory to your name.

We pray for your blessings upon all of our loved ones, and for your protection over them as they navigate the new year. We ask that you would be with those who are suffering, and bring healing and hope to their lives.

Thank you for all that you have done, and all that you will do in the days ahead. We trust in your goodness and faithfulness, and we look forward to all that you have in store for us in the new year.

In your holy name we pray, Amen.

Post of the Day

Quote of the Day

"The Christian does not think God will love us because we are good, but that God will make us good because He loves us; just as the roof of a sunhouse does not attract the sun because it is bright, but becomes bright because the son shines on it."

— C.S. Lewis
