Verse of the Day

These two verses from Proverbs remind us to hold onto mercy and truth, to keep them close and never let them go. They are virtues that are so important in our walk with God and in our relationships with others. As we embody mercy and truth in our daily lives, we will find favor in the sight of God and man.

The reference to binding mercy and truth around our neck emphasizes the importance of keeping these virtues close to us, as if they are an adornment that we wear at all times. By doing so, we can ensure that they are never far from our thoughts and actions.

But how can we hold onto mercy and truth? By writing them upon the table of our hearts. This means to engrave them deep within us, to make them an integral part of our character, so that we can naturally live them out in our thoughts, words, and actions.

When we embody mercy and truth, we are reflecting the character of Christ to the world. It's not always easy to show mercy and speak truth, but with God's help, we can cultivate these virtues and become a light in a dark world.

Prayer of the Day

Dear Lord,

Thank You for reminding me of the importance of mercy and truth in my life. Help me to hold onto these virtues and make them an integral part of who I am. I know that this may not always be easy, but I trust in Your guidance and strength to help me live them out in my daily thoughts, words, and actions. May I be a reflection of Your character to the world, and bring light to those around me.

In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
