📖 Verse of the Day

“Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.”

Reflection

There’s a weight that comes with hurt. Words that wound, actions that betray, people who disappoint—these can feel like burdens we carry long after the moment passes. Naturally, we want to hold on to our pain, maybe even justify anger or distance. But Jesus invites us to drop that weight. He doesn’t just tell us to forgive—He calls us to bless and to pray.

At first, this feels upside-down, doesn’t it? Blessing someone who has cursed you? Praying for someone who mistreats you? It seems like weakness, but in reality, it’s a display of God’s strength within you. When you pray for those who hurt you, you invite God into the broken places. You surrender the need to fix, punish, or carry it alone.

Prayer doesn’t always change the other person immediately, but it changes you. It softens bitterness, lifts heavy burdens, and reminds you of who God is—merciful, just, and able to heal even the deepest wounds.

Today, take a step of faith. Name that person in prayer. Ask God to bless them, even if it’s hard. Because this kind of love—His kind of love—is the key to your own freedom. It sets you free.

Ask Yourself

  • Who has God placed on your heart to bless today?

  • How might your own heart change if you began praying for those who've hurt you?

🙏 Prayer of the Day

Dear Father,

You see the weight I’ve been carrying—the hurt, the disappointment, the unspoken pain. Today, I choose to trust You with it. I lift up the ones who’ve caused this hurt. Bless them, Lord. Heal their hearts and mine. Replace bitterness with Your peace, and my weakness with Your strength.

Thank You for the mercy You’ve shown me time and time again. Help me reflect that same mercy to others, even when it’s hard. I trust You to work in ways I can’t see, and to bring beauty from what’s broken.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
